F. Scott Fitzgerald — The Great Gatsby — Descriptive Passages (adapted) (1925)
The magnificent parties at West Egg glittered extravagantly as if an unlimited supply of gold had been casually scattered across the beautiful grounds by some generous spirit. Gatsby spoke about his mysterious past with practiced smoothness as though he had personally attended the finest universities in all of Europe. She walked confidently into the grand room as if she actually owned the entire prestigious building and all its furnishings. The gentle moonlight dancing across the water looked nearly mystical as if it were a glowing pathway leading to another enchanting world beyond our understanding.
